Leaving London

A good trip comes to a close

Our hosts for the trip: CC and Fred with sons Anthony and Andrew. Their other son Joe is in the car, patiently waiting to take us to the airport.

Fred and CC were kind enough to put us up at their home, Penwood Lodge, in Woking.

Memorable Moments

Fred and I rode in the Granada Wheel Appeal, a fundraiser for the British Heart Association. The 50 mile ride took us from London to Brighton. I'll always remember struggling up Ditchling Beacon Hill.

All in all it was a great trip. London was chockful of interesting sights and experiences, and I'm so glad that we ventured out to other parts of England as well.

Mark Twain once observed that Americans and the English are two people separated by a common language. I was surprised how difficult it was to understand the British speech.
