Hiking

Go climb a rock

The Story

While the academics worked, Kermit hiked on the granite mountains nearby.

The Photos

First, a walk up Eliot Mountain. It's only 422 feet high but has a pretty view of the coastline.

The next day, Kermit took the aptly named Goat Trail. It begins alongside the Lower and Upper Haddock Ponds. These rapids connect the two ponds.

An insanely steep climb leads to the peak of Norumbega Mountain, 862 feet. The prize is this view of Somes Sound from the peak (below).
