We rode the ferry to Liberty Island, site of the Statue of Liberty, and then to Ellis Island. Many of the tourists were from other countries.

![]() In the East Village we stopped by the CBGB retail store. It's all that remains of the fabled but now defunct music hall that was the birthplace of American punk rock. A few blocks away Kendra and Emily pay their respects at the location where the club once thrived. The only markers there are graffiti left by fans. |
